With more than three decades inside small businesses, large enterprises, healthcare research units, and higher education — ultimately overseeing complex multi million dollar financial operations, leading fiscal operations at scale, building dashboards, redesigning workflows, implementing shared services models, and translating financial complexity into executive clarity:

As a black 2Spirit leader with late midlife identified neurodivergence, I know what it means to mask and code switch for survival, to outperform expectations, and to navigate environments that were never designed for my full expression. I've lived the tension between loyalty and truth, excellence and erasure, performance and peace.

The Story Behind “Fatha Diva”

You’ll occasionally hear people refer to me as Fatha Diva. The name wasn’t something I created as a gimmick, it grew out of a hilarious story. Years ago I entered one of my "chiren" that I mentor in a local ballroom competition to help build confidence. They needed a name for the house and I put down D-VA. Somewhere during the course of event planning it got changed to Diva, and it stuck.

Over time it became shorthand for the energy I bring into rooms: protective, discerning, and unwilling to ignore harm so the room stays comfortable .

For me, Fatha Diva represents the version of my voice that survived systems that demanded silence. It blends humor, cultural awareness, and truth telling. It's the willingness to name misaligned incentives, leadership theater, or institutional gaslighting when it harms people or mission.

It’s not a persona. It’s simply the part of me that refuses to shrink.

Through Strategic Life Solutions LLC, I help mission driven leaders and organizations build financial and other systems that align performance with integrity. My advisory work focuses on executive level financial oversight, systems clarity, and strategic alignment.

My speaking work explores culture change, messenger bias, performative empathy, burnout as structural misalignment, and the cost of building institutions that reward image over substance.
