ADHD Body Doubling — Virtual Sessions via Zoom

You don't need more discipline.
You need someone in the room.

Virtual body doubling sessions for ADHD entrepreneurs, professionals, and creators who know exactly what they need to do, but just can't get their brain to start. Hosted by a financial architect and systems strategist who thrived for over 30 years inside structure, then discovered what ADHD really is when the structure disappeared.

The Science

What is body doubling, and why does it work?

Body doubling is working alongside another person. That's it. They don't help you. They don't supervise. They simply exist in the same space while you do your work. And for the ADHD brain, that quiet human presence can be the difference between a wasted afternoon and a breakthrough day.

The ADHD brain produces and responds to dopamine differently. Without enough of it, starting a boring but critical task can feel almost physically impossible. Research shows that the mere presence of another person activates the brain's dopamine reward system, giving you just enough neurochemical fuel to get your executive functions (attention, impulse control, task initiation) working again.

The Cleveland Clinic's Dr. Michael Manos calls it "a form of external executive functioning" (someone acting as an outside helper for the part of your brain that struggles with focus and getting started).

"Your brain activates differently when another person is present. Starting tasks becomes easier. Staying on task becomes easier. Finishing becomes easier."

— Geri Self, ADHD Coach & Educator

Did you know? Adults with ADHD who learn to recognize and use their unique strengths report significantly better wellbeing, higher quality of life, and fewer mental health symptoms, according to a landmark study from the University of Bath, King's College London, and Radboud University.

Why Choose Me

I'm not reading from a textbook. I'm reading from my life.

I'm a financial architect, systems strategist, and MBA graduate with more than three decades inside small businesses, large enterprises, healthcare research units, and higher education — ultimately overseeing complex multi million dollar financial operations, leading fiscal operations at scale, building dashboards, redesigning workflows, implementing shared services models, and translating financial complexity into executive clarity. I thrived inside institutional structure. Then I stepped into entrepreneurship, the structure disappeared, and everything went sideways. That's when I discovered I'd been running on borrowed scaffolding my entire career, and that I had ADHD all along.

🧠

Late Diagnosed, Deeply Understood

I was highly successful for decades inside structured institutional environments. It wasn't until I left that structure and pursued entrepreneurship that everything unraveled. My late midlife ADHD diagnosis finally explained why: the scaffolding was gone, and my brain had no idea how to build its own.

❤️

I Know RSD From the Inside

I won't flinch if you shut down after an email. I won't ask "what's the big deal?" I understand rejection sensitive dysphoria (like the way one comment can send you into a three day emotional spiral) because I've lived it myself.

Entrepreneur Who Gets Entrepreneurs

I know the cycle: Learn → Research → Build → Optimize → Delay Launch → Feel Behind → Repeat. I'm a systems thinker and builder. I understand why work gets avoided even when you know it matters most.

🛡️

Present Without Being Intrusive

I'll be present without being intrusive. You decide the level of interaction or none at all. Want total silence? You've got it. Want occasional check-ins? Just say so. This is your session, your terms. I'm an anchor, not your authority.

🧩

Systems Thinker, Still Learning

My natural wiring is pattern recognition and connecting ideas. I spent decades doing that professionally. I'm still figuring out what systems work for my own ADHD brain as an entrepreneur, and I'm honest about that. You're not getting someone who's "solved" ADHD. You're getting someone who's in the work alongside you.

🤝

Judgment Free Zone, Always

You won't get toxic positivity from me. You also won't get shame. My sessions are a space where you can show up exactly as you are (hyperfocused, scattered, stuck in freeze mode, or on fire) and it's all okay.

Is This For You?

You know what you need to do. You just can't get your brain to start.

Body doubling sessions are for anyone with ADHD (diagnosed or suspected) who needs a focused human presence to break through executive dysfunction.

You have a task list that stares at you while you stare back and neither of you moves first.

You can hyperfocus on a Wikipedia rabbit hole for three hours but can't file taxes for ten minutes.

You're an entrepreneur who builds brilliant systems but avoids the revenue-producing work that actually pays the bills.

You were diagnosed late in life and you're still learning what tools actually fit your brain.

You watch another tutorial instead of shipping. You rewrite instead of publishing. You optimize instead of launching.

You need to clean, organize, do paperwork, make phone calls, or tackle the admin pile that's been haunting you for weeks.

You feel busy all day but critical work gets avoided and you blame yourself for it every night.

You've tried every planner, app, and Pomodoro timer. They worked for three days. Then they didn't.

How It Works

Three steps. Zero complexity.

Because the last thing an ADHD brain needs is another complicated system.

3

Get It Done

Work. That's it. I'm there as your anchor. If you want a gentle check-in, we set that expectation upfront. If you want total silence, you've got it. YOU set the terms. Your brain does the rest.

Expert Insights

Don't just take my word for it. Listen to the experts.

"ADHD is not a discipline problem. It's a wiring difference. Our brain produces and responds to dopamine differently. You can't fix a wiring problem with effort. You fix a wiring problem with understanding."

Geri Self — ADHD Coach, Educator, Thrive with ADHD Program

"ADHD is not a disorder of knowing, it's a disorder of doing. Once someone had to rely on themselves alone — without support, without structure around them — they couldn't do it."

Dr. Alan Graham — Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Master-Certified ADHD Coach

"We just need support systems. We just need processes. You don't need more willpower. You don't even necessarily need more confidence. You just have to be willing to start."

Jheri South — Neurodivergent Coach & Entrepreneur

"Someone else providing you with clarity, breaking the task into smaller steps — then you're like, okay, this is what it actually involves. You just need the first push. Once you've started, it's easier to keep going."

Dr. Michaela Thomas — Clinical Psychologist, Author

Common Questions

Everything you're wondering (but haven't asked yet)

Do I have to have my camera on?

Cameras on is the standard because the visual connection is part of what makes body doubling work — your brain registers another human's presence more strongly when it can see them. But if you're camera shy, we'll tailor it to what works for you.

Will you tell me what to work on?

No. This isn't coaching. You decide what you're working on. I'm here as a focused presence as your anchor, not your boss. If you want me to gently redirect you when I notice you've drifted, just say the word before we start.

What if I don't have an ADHD diagnosis?

You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from body doubling. If you struggle with task initiation, focus, or procrastination and you've noticed that being around other people helps then this will probably work for you too.

What kind of tasks can I work on?

Anything. Work, emails, phone calls you've been avoiding, taxes, cleaning, organizing, creative projects, business admin, writing, decluttering... If it needs doing and you can't start it alone, bring it.

What makes this different from free body doubling apps?

Apps pair you with random strangers. That works for some people. But if you want a consistent, reliable human who understands ADHD from the inside (someone who knows what RSD looks like, who won't judge your messy desk or your third attempt to start the same email) that's what this is.

Can I book recurring sessions?

Absolutely. Many clients find that a standing weekly session is the most effective approach. You can book as many or as few sessions as you want. There are no contracts or subscriptions.

Stop fighting your brain.
Start working with it.

You don't need another app, another planner, or another system built for someone else's brain. You just need a focused human presence on the other side of the screen. Let's get some work done together.
